About Aria

Hi! My name is Aria McKenna, founder of The Global Cooling Project.

I am an actress, director, writer, producer, and mother to an 12 year old girl. As a mother, and as an artist, I have had an itch. I have wanted to feel that I could help make a real difference in this world on a larger scale.

I grew up in Florida, running barefoot in the woods, and scavenging for fossils in creeks. I picked up sand dollars with my toes from the white sand of the ocean floor of a crystal clear sea, and discovered dolphins, turtles, crabs, and various other ticklish fish.

Today, that same sea that provided such glorious beauty and discovery has been unfathomably sullied by the Gulf Oil Disaster, and we’ve all seen the pictures of those oil soaked creatures that washed ashore. The safety of our water has been jeopardized. Our air creates breathing problems. Toxic leaks and spills are threatening the future of life on this planet. And now, in the midst of extreme weather conditions, and many species at risk, we cannot afford to wait any longer.

It seems to me that we already have all the technology we need to at our disposal. What we have not had is the will, or the understanding. It is my intention to help raise awareness and inspiration for people to start becoming powerful parts of the solution in their everyday lives. I, myself, am not perfect, but I am striving to help create a better planet, and I believe that united, we are powerful beyond our wildest dreams.

My dream is to unite entertainment, inspiration, understanding, and empowerment. Using the technology of the internet to link powerful, inspiring content with powerful web-based actions that will truly make a dramatic difference in the well-being of life on this planet.

Hey this is great! Would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m planning to start my own blog in the near future but I’m having a tough time deciding between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique. P.S Apologies for getting off-topic but I had to ask!

Thank you, I went with Word Press, I don’t know the others. I’m still learning it, but it seems very adaptable. Good luck! I hope you follow the blogs and web series, once the site is set and I’m up and running!
